PAGASA Says Southwest Monsoon Will Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (August 14, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will bring rain over parts of the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez reported that the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rain showers over the country.

Severe Tropical Storm Podul was last spotted 650 kilometers northwest of the extreme of Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 95 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 160 kph.
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, and Davao Oriental.
“The rest of Luzon, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, as well as Cagayan Valley, will have clear weather, but there is also a high chance of rain, especially in the afternoon and evening,” Dominguez said.

Fair weather with a possibility of rain in the afternoon and evening is expected over the Bangsamoro Region, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon will be moderate. Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
