Office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Proposed To Get Lion’s Share of Proposed CIF for 2026
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Office of the President is poised to get the biggest Confidential and Intelligence Funds for 2026 based on the proposed national budget.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has turned over the proposed budget crafted by the executive department for the Fiscal Year 2026 to the House of Representatives. The National Expenditure Program (NEP) is at P6.793 trillion.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously called on the Congress to “swiftly enact” the 2026 budget and to work together to realized the full potential of the country, nurture generations that are ready for the future, and “fulfill our dream of a Bagong Pilipinas”.
Marcos Jr. claimed that the country is poised to be the leader among the nations most especially in the Asia Pacific region. According to him, the country is on the track with its “Agenda for Prosperity”.

The President also revealed the specific budget appropriations proposed by the executive department for the key agencies and departments of the government. The Department of Education (DepEd) is poised to receive one of the biggest budget appropriations.

Here are the proposed budget for the years 2026 for the different departments in the government based on the NEP crafted by the executive department:
- Department of Education (DepEd) — P928.5 billion
- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) — P881.3 billion
- Department of Health (DOH) — P320.5 billion
- Department of National Defense (DND) — P299.3 billion
- Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) — P287.5 billion
- Department of Agriculture (DA) — P239.2 billion
- Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) — P227.0 billion
- Department of Transportation (DOTr) — P197.3 billion
- Judiciary Department — P67.9 billion
- Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) — P55.2 billion
With regards to the Confidential and Intelligence Funds, based on a report on Inquirer, DBM said that the secret funds is cut by 11% for the year 2026. The Office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is poised to get the Lion’s share from the CIFs.

Based on the report, in the P6.793-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2026 submitted to the House of Representatives, the DBM proposed P10.77 billion for the Confidential and Intel Funds. It is lower than the P12.12 billion CIF last year.
The proposed CIF for 2026 is consists of P6.39-billion budget for intelligence expenses and P4.36 billion for confidential funds. Based on the report, the office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is proposed to get P4.5 billion CIF for next year. It is higher than the P1.141 billion CIF proposed for the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.
Based on the report, the Department of National Defense is proposed to get P1.848 billion in CIF. The P2.292 billion CIF will be divided among the other executive offices including the Anti-Money Laundering Council, National Security Council, and the Philippine National Police.
Ahead of the budget deliberations, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claims that she already expects budget cuts from the proposed P903-million budget for the OVP.
