Vice Ganda Defended By Pokwang Amid Bashing Due To Duterte Joke

Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda was defended by his friend Kapuso comedienne Pokwang amid the criticism he received because of his joke about former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Vice received bashing from the DDS or Diehard Duterte Supporters because he used the current situation of PRRD in his concert skit by mentioning, trip to the Hague, and this is via ICC.

The comedian-host was slammed by a DDS supporter who asked the government of Davao City to declare him persona non grata.

Vice was also slammed by Atty. Harry Roque, one of the allies of PRRD. The lawyer stressed that it was inappropriate for the comedian to do that because he was just like kicking someone who is already down.

Amid the bashing, Vice fans continued to support him, even though some netizens pointed out that his Facebook followers had diminished.

Vice also received support from his friend Pokwang. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Kapuso comedienne said that even though some were hurt by Vice’s joke, there was no need for them to drag his mother into the issue.

“Wag naman po tayong ganyan! Kung may na offend man sa Joke ni Vice e wag naman po idamay ang nanay kasi hindi naman artista or politiko ang kanyang ina,” Pokie said, adding that public figures like them, including politicians, know that bashing is inevitable, but she stressed that Nanay Rosario should be spared from this.

A netizen commented with a reminder that PRRD treated Vice well, and even had a special greeting for one of his birthdays.

Pokwang had a reply to this. She said that she is sure Vice Ganda did not forget this, but the comedian’s mom does not deserve to be dragged into this. “Hindi naman si nanay Rosario nagsulat ng script ni meme or nag utos sa kanya na ganon ang i joke nya!” she said.
