Concerned Netizen Touched by PWDs & Senior Citizens Struggling on Overpass
A concerned netizen shared a video showing several persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens having difficulty using an overpass.
Recently, a concerned netizen, identified as Jessamyn Dimalibot, posted the video on the Facebook page “Bantay Trapiko,” showing the struggles of PWDs and seniors on the overpass. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions online.
In the video, an elderly man can be seen slowly making his way down the steep stairs of the overpass, gripping the railings tightly for support. Each step appears to be a struggle, showing the difficulty of using such a structure without proper accessibility features.

According to residents, the overpass was expected to have an elevator to accommodate PWDs and seniors.
However, it remains unclear whether the elevator is operational or even available. Without it, those who are physically challenged are left to take the stairs, an exhausting and potentially dangerous task.
Many internet users expressed concern not only for the elderly man in the video but for all who face similar struggles every day. It also raised questions about the importance of designing public infrastructure that truly serves all members of the community, especially those with mobility issues.
For the residents, the overpass is supposed to provide safety from the busy roads below. But for some, it has become another obstacle to overcome.
The residents hope that the attention will prompt local authorities to ensure that facilities meant for public safety can be used comfortably and safely by everyone, regardless of age or physical condition.
The video has a caption:
“Concern lang po Napansin ko lang, akala ko may Elevator ang overpass para sa mga PWD & Seniors natin.”
