Sen. Imee Marcos Takes Swipe against House Speaker Martin Romualdez
IMEE MARCOS – The Presidential Sister and Senator encouraged the members of the lower chamber to replace House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The Senate recently decided to archive the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte. House Speaker Martin Romualdez called the said move of the upper chamber a “rushed burial” of the impeachment case against Duterte. Nineteen (19) senators including his cousin, Sen. Marcos, voted in favor of the archiving of the impeachment case.

Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Rodante Marcoleta initially moved for the dismissal of the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Later on, he agreed to have it changed to the archiving of the case amid a pending Motion for Reconsideration filed by the House of Representatives before the Supreme Court.

Each senator was given the chance to give a statement to explain their vote over the motion to archive the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Most of them cited adherence to the ruling of the Supreme Court that declared Duterte’s impeachment articles as “unconstitutional”.

Before declaring her vote, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos delivered strong remarks against his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez. She also called on the members of the House of Representatives to oust the Speaker from his post.

Without naming who she’s referring to, Sen. Imee Marcos called on the House members not to tolerate the “spoiled bonjing” and to agree for a reward. He also asked the House members not to raise a crocodile.
“Mag move on na tayo. Magtrabaho at huwag kunsintihin ang isang spoiled na bonjing. Huwag nang busogin ng pabor. Huwag ng pumayag dahil may pabuya. Huwag tayo magpalaki ng buwaya, baby pa nga ang tawang, Lolong na,” the Senator said.
Based on the post, Sen. Imee Marcos did not hesitate to air her suggestion to the House members to change their House Speaker instead of exerting all their efforts to impeach a person elected by the Filipino people.
“Sa mga mahal kong kongresista, may suggestion po ako. Ito suggestion lang naman huwag ninyong masamain. Kaysa inaatupag ninyong palitan ang pinili ng taumbayan, binoto at minahal, bakit ‘di niyo na lang palitan ang tao kayo naman lang ang pumili? Ano kaya kung ‘yung Speaker niyo na lang ang palitan niyo? Kaya niyo yan,” Marcos said.
Sen. Imee Marcos sided with the Duterte family in both the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as well as the controversial arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC). She even left the senatorial slate of her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, and ditched his 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Despite it all, Sen. Imee Marcos also recently claimed that there is allegedly “no family feud” between her and his brother, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
