2 Bogus Beauty Practitioners in Makati City Arrested for Illegal Aesthetic Procedures
Two bogus beauty practitioners were arrested in Makati City for allegedly performing illegal botox and filler procedures.
On Friday (August 6, 2025), two Vietnamese nationals were arrested in Makati City for allegedly performing illegal aesthetic procedures, according to the Southern Police District (SPD) on Friday.
Authorities identified the suspects as a 36-year-old man known as “Van” and a 35-year-old woman known as “Thi.” They were caught during an entrapment operation inside a beauty clinic along Salamanca Street in Barangay Poblacion on Thursday.

“Alam ko po nung una is ligal po… sa nails po, yun po kasi yung pang-front nila… pedicure and manicure, akala ko po is okay lang po sir, kasi hindi naman po ako naging matanong sa kanila,” the Filipina said.
Police reports stated that the pair were caught in the act of administering Botox injections and dermal filler treatments without the proper license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
These procedures, which involve injecting substances into the skin to reduce wrinkles or add volume, can pose serious health risks if done incorrectly or without proper training.
During the operation, authorities seized several items from the clinic, including vials of Botulax and Botox, medical equipment, receipts, cash, and identification cards belonging to the suspects.
The SPD emphasized that offering medical or cosmetic treatments without the required credentials violates the law and endangers public safety.
Licensed professionals undergo years of training and certification to ensure these procedures are done safely, and unqualified individuals performing them can cause infections, allergic reactions, and even permanent damage.
The two suspects are now in the custody of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) and may face charges for violating the Medical Act of the Philippines. Police also reminded the public to be cautious when availing beauty treatments and to ensure that practitioners are licensed and clinics are accredited.
