Sandro Muhlach decided to skip this year’s GMA Gala
Kapuso actor Sandro Muhlach decided not to attend the GMA Gala 2025 for these reasons.
Sandro, the son of former child star Nino Muhlach, had an unforgettable experience last year. He is young in the industry, and that experience brought trauma to him.
Sandro accused GMA contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz of harassing him in their hotel room after the GMA Gala. This became a controversial issue, as Sandro decided to bring this matter to the court. His family stood by his side and supported his legal battle against the GMA contractors.
The actor formally filed a complaint against the two contractors. Last February, the court denied the motion to quash the information of Nones and Cruz.
Amid this controversy, Sandro received support from netizens and his fellow celebrities. His experience even pushed singer-actor Gerald Santos to fight for himself after the abuse he allegedly experienced when he was just 15 years old.
Six months after that traumatic experience for him, Sandro returned to acting. He had some public appearances as well. However, he chose not to be seen at the GMA Gala, which is considered one of the major Kapuso events.
In a recent episode of Showbiz Update, the YouTube talk show of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, he discussed what his insider shared about Sandro Muhlach.
āTo be honest, si Sandro Muhlach ay invited. Pero pinili ng bata na huwag um-attend. Kasi una, kung a-attend siya, maaalala na naman niya,ā Ogie shared.
Another reason was that the press people might feast on him as they wanted to ask him about the past issue. Ogie said that Sandro did not want this to happen. However, Ogie said that Sandro’s girlfriend, Shanelle Agustin, attended the annual Kapuso fundraising event.
