2 Robbery Suspects in Bacolod City Injured After Being Caught by Residents
Two men ended up injured after being caught and beaten by residents in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Previously, two individuals were mauled by locals in Bacolod City following a robbery incident. The victim, identified as Hiro Charita, was selling a second-hand cellphone at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex when he was suddenly held at knifepoint by one of the suspects.
The suspects were later identified as Stephen John Villamil and Lenon Villarin.

According to Hiro, one of the suspects pressed a knife against his neck, prompting him to shout for help. Fortunately, nearby residents responded quickly. They chased the suspects until they were cornered.
The two robbers suffered injuries as the angry crowd beat them before turning them over to authorities.
One of the suspects tried to escape using a motorcycle, but was also stopped by locals. Thanks to the quick action of the community, both men were captured and are now in police custody.
Hiro said he is determined to file charges against the suspects. During an interview, one of the suspects admitted to stealing the phone, claiming he only did it because he needed money. He even said that he was just trying to avoid getting into worse trouble.
Further investigation revealed that Villamil had previously been jailed for illegal gambling. Authorities also found suspected illegal drugs on him, although he refused to comment on that matter.
The suspects will now face appropriate charges, and the police are continuing their investigation to check if they have been involved in other similar crimes.
