Duterte’s Common Law Wife Honeylet Avanceña Speaks to Former President’s ICC Lawyer
Honeylet Avanceña claimed that she’s allegedly deprived by lawyer Nicholas Kaufman from visiting former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte inside the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is detained under the custody of the ICC since March. He is faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity over the drug war of his administration. Despite his arrest and the transfer of his custody, he maintained that everything he did is for the Filipino people and his country.

His common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña, also told the Filipinos that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte allegedly loved the Filipinos more than his own family. During a recent visit of his 12-year-old grandson, the former President told his grandson that not all people inside the detention center is bad.
Several family members of the former President claimed that he is now “skin and bones”. According to his ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, the former Chief Executive lost his appetite on food and spends most of his time sleeping and watching television.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s camp filed a petition for his interim release to an undisclosed country. However, recently, the lawyers of Duterte also asked the ICC to hold off in deciding over the interim release plea. According to his lead counsel, British-Israeli lawyer Nicholas Kaufman, they still await some information and documents that will support the bid.

Recently, Honeylet Avanceña claimed that she is allegedly barred by Duterte’s lawyer, Nicholas Kaufman, from visiting the former President inside the ICC detention facility. The move is supposedly due to Duterte’s common-law wife’s alleged discussion of his ICC case with him over a phone call.
Honeylet Avanceña gave a message to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s lawyer. She told lawyer Nicholas Kaufman that she has nothing against him but they should not be deprived of asking other people for legal opinions.
“I have nothing against you (Kaufman), but please do not deprive us of asking other people… of asking legal opinions from other lawyers also, but we acknowledge you as his lawyer. However, if our positions were reversed and you were inside (the prison), what would your spouse do then?” Honeylet said.

Based on a post, Honeylet Avanceña also recalled her last visit to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte inide the ICC detention facility. According to her, the only day that she was able to visit him was the day she arrived in The Hague.
“Just five minutes ‘tsaka ako nilapitan nung lalake sabi isu-suspend daw and this is exactly what PRD said, ‘You cannot do that,'”. Sinabi niya, tapos the following day wala na akong visit,” Duterte’s common law wife said.
Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s ICC lawyer Nicholas Kaufman who admitted to have served former First Lady Imelda Marcos years ago told ex-presidential spokesman Harry Roque that Duterte allegedly has no desire to see him nor be assisted by him.
