Man Suffers Convulsions from Herb-Based “Tuklaw” Smoke
TUKLAW – A disturbing scene unfolded in Taguig as a man was caught on video trembling uncontrollably just moments after inhaling a “tuklaw” cigarette.
A man from Taguig City was taken to the hospital after experiencing severe convulsions shortly after smoking a cigarette referred to as “tuklaw,” which was handed to him by an unknown motorcycle rider. The incident, caught on video and widely shared online, has stirred public concern and drawn the attention of local authorities.
According to bystanders, the rider approached the man and asked him to light and try the cigarette. Not long after taking a puff, the victim began to shake uncontrollably and appeared to lose bodily control. Quick-thinking individuals nearby immediately called for emergency medical help. The man is currently under close medical supervision.
“Tuklaw” is said to be made from an herb imported from Vietnam and is believed to contain extremely high levels of nicotine. Health experts have cautioned that smoking it can lead to serious health risks such as seizures, involuntary muscle spasms, and even fainting.
