Here’s an update about Typhoon Emong and the tropical cyclone wind signals in effect.
TYPHOON EMONG UPDATE – PAGASA has released an update about the typhoon, and the list of tropical cyclone wind signals in effect.
Based on the 5 PM update from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Emong, which is now in the Typhoon category, continues to move slowly over the coastal waters west of Pangasinan.

It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, gusts of up to 150 km/h, and a central pressure of 975 hPa, while moving east-southeastward at a slow pace.

Typhoon Emong will “accelerate northeastward tonight and to make landfall or pass very close to northwestern Pangasinan tonight.” It may also make landfall in La Union or Ilocos Sur this late evening or tomorrow early morning. It may still briefly intensify before making landfall.
