PAGASA Monitors 3 Tropical Cyclone Within PAR
Tropical Cyclone Emong is now a typhoon, while a low-pressure area outside PAR has intensified into a tropical depression.
On Thursday (July 24, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that both Emong and LPA outside the country’s vicinity intensified.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Cyclone Emong has intensified into a typhoon. It is being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Emong was last spotted 220 kilometers west of Dagupan City with winds and gustiness of 120 to 150 kilometers per hour.
“‘EMONG’ (International name: CO-MAY) has intensified into a Typhoon and is also being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR),” PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility has intensified into a tropical depression. It was last located 2,080 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.

The LPA has winds and gustiness of 45 to 55 kph while moving north northwest at 15 kph.
“The Low-Pressure Area (LPA 07i), which is outside the PAR, has developed into a tropical depression and is still being monitored,” PAGASA said.
As of this writing, Typhoon Emong and Tropical Storm Dante are inside the country’s vicinity.
Currently, PAGASA is now monitoring three tropical cyclones.
