Here’s the comment of Jake Ejercito to the posts.
ABS-CBN actor Jake Ejercito has this comment calling out the DILG over their Facebook posts about class suspensions.
Where should the government draw the line between professionalism and being approachable in their social media posts? An attempt to entertain the people seemed to have failed when the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Facebook page shared posts throwing off punchlines and humor amid the distress of the people brought by the habagat.

The Southwest Monsoon is enhanced by Dante PH, the Low Pressure Area east of Batanes, and Tropical Cyclone WIPHA over Vietnam. People were amused as to how the government agency showed how lightly they were dealing with the matter, considering the announcement was prompted by the effects of the continuous rains that caused severe flooding and displacement of thousands of people.
The posts did not sit well with many people, as they believe that this is not the time to joke around and appear like something serious is taken lightly. It is the people’s welfare that was at stake during this difficult time.
As much as some people online disliked the posts, actor Jake Ejercito also commented on the posts, and just below his comment was the comment from actress Jessy Mendiola.
Ejercito wrote, “There’s a time and place for trying to be funny — this isn’t one of them,” while Mendiola quipped, “Is this supposed to be funny?”
