Online Community Praises Heroic Man After Saving Boy Swept Away by Floodwaters
A heroic man earns praise and admiration online after saving a young boy after being swept away by floodwaters in Quezon City.
On Monday (July 21, 2025), a young boy accidentally fell into an open drainage hole at a road construction site in Ison Site, De Gloria Extension. A man, who was walking ahead to fetch another child, did not notice the boy following him.
In just seconds, the child slipped on the wet ground and was swept away by the strong current. Thankfully, a man heard the cries and quickly jumped into the floodwaters and bravely rescued the child.
The fast response of the people in the area helped ensure the boy’s safety. The boy’s parents expressed deep gratitude for the kindness and bravery shown by the community. Many netizens praised him for risking his own safety to save the child, calling him a true hero.
People online said he deserves more than just recognition, some even suggested he should be given a reward, like P80,000, for his bravery.
A popular reviewer and content creator, Dr. Carl Balita, was also moved and praised the man’s selfless act. “Si kuya – SUPERHERO – dapat ang binibigyan ng 80k,” he said.
Another content creator, Keifer Brosse, even managed to reach out to the man, known as “Jay,” and gave him a small gift as a token of appreciation.
“Malaking saludo sayo pare Isa kang bayani na dapat tularan ng mga kapwa nating PILIPINO hindi ka nagdalawang Isip na iligtas ang batang nasa kapahamakan kahit alam mong ikakapahamak mo rin ito,” Keifer said.
“Sa mga nakakakilala kay brother kung tagasan o may contact kayo or pag nabasa nyo itong post ko parating nyo sakanya na gusto ko syang makilala at abutan ng konting regalo dahil sobrang na apprecieate ko ang kanyang kabayanihan sa batang kanyang niligtas,” he added.
