Andrea Torres returned to doing a teleserye after two years

Kapuso actress Andrea Torres shared the reason why she took a break from doing a TV series for a couple of years.

Andrea is one of GMA’s homegrown talents. Over the years, she has done a lot of teleseryes and shows. However, these past two years, she did not do any teleserye.

Her social media page was filled with her posts about her travels and her life behind the camera. This year, she had her TV comeback.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Andrea Torres was asked if it was her conscious choice to take a rest.

“Hindi naman, waiting lang talaga for the right project,” the actress said. She now has a TV series titled Akusada. She said that she is happy that this project was given to her. It was because the role is very challenging.

With the title Akusada, it meant that her career is being accused of something, and it is a huge issue. “Nabago ang buhay niya. Ang dami pang nadamay dahil do’n,” the actress shared about her character.

Andrea shared that every taping, she can really feel her growth because the role is very demanding. Teamwork is happening on the set because other cast members have heavy scenes. With how they were into their roles, Andrea said that she was not aware of the time passing by.

First time na mangyari sa amin na pagkakuha namin ng script, yung parang four weeks bilang naging one week. Gano’n kabilis,” she shared.

The last TV series that she did was in 2023. That was the Love Before Sunrise with Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo. When asked if her semi-hiatus was due to soul-searching, Andrea Torres said, “Uy, hindi! Gusto nating mag-work.”

The actress added that she is not at the level of being able to decline project offers. She stressed that she just waited for what would come. In between, she did some guest appearances, like in the fantasy series Encantadia Chronicles: Sanggre.
