Xyriel Manabat Reveals What Happened To Her “Ipon” As A Child Star

Xyriel Manabat had this expectation when it came to her financial status when she was young

Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat revealed what happened to her “ipon” from her earnings as a child star.

Xyriel started her showbiz career at a young age. She was hailed as the third runner-up in Star Circle Kid Quest: Search for the Kiddie Idol, a kiddie talent search formed by ABS-CBN.

Even though she did not win, the opportunities she received from her home network were overwhelming. She did projects in which she was the lead child star. However, Xyriel, just like many child stars, chose to leave the limelight at a certain point in their life.

When she was about to hit puberty, she decided to leave the entertainment industry and focus on her studies. However, she returned to acting in 2023.

In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of Black Cookies Productions, Xyriel Manabat talked about her showbiz journey, from the time she started and what happened when she decided to have her showbiz hiatus.

She mentioned that one of the reasons why she stopped was that she thought she was already financially stable. Xyriel clarified that she is saying this story not to air her grievances, but as a form of an inspiring story.

All the while, she thought that her trust fund from everything that she earned as a child star was already enough for her to sustain her life when she reached the age of 12. That was the time she decided to leave showbiz.

The actress had no idea how much she was earning since she started her acting career. “Akala ko noong time na yun, siguro naman may ipon ako,” she said.

When she turned 18, she wanted to get her passbook, but to her surprise, she had no earnings after all. “Wala na, ubos na sya,” Xyriel said.

She felt betrayed because her voice was not valid. The actress also shared that she was not that extravagant when it comes to the things she uses because her goal was to save money.

It was devastating for her, but she chose to forgive and move on. Despite what happened, she was grateful to have their basic needs. She and her siblings were able to go to private schools. With what happened, Xyriel Manabat expressed gratitude to her parents who never forsake them.

Then, Xyriel Manabat quipped, “Yun po yung rason kung bakit ako bumalik Kailangan ko ng pera.”
