Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) latest update about Tropical Depression Crising.
Floods and landslides are likely as Tropical Depression Crising and the enhanced southwest monsoon intensifies on Friday, July 18. Crising maintained its strength and will continue to pour rain on parts of Luzon and the Visayas.

Based on the latest from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), it slightly accelerates with its maintained strength over the sea east of Aurora. As of 1 AM on July 18, its center was spotted 350 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.3°N, 125.4°E).
In terms of intensity, it has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and a central pressure of 1000 hPa. It moves northwestward at 20 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals are in effect over the following areas:
- Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, La Union, Quirino, the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora), Nueva Vizcaya, the northern portion of Pangasinan (San Nicolas, Natividad, San Quintin, San Manuel, Tayug, Sison, San Fabian, Pozorrubio, Laoac, Binalonan, San Jacinto, Manaoag, Mangaldan, Dagupan City, Binmaley, Lingayen, Labrador, Sual, City of Alaminos, Bolinao, Anda, Bani, Agno, Burgos, Mabini, Dasol, Calasiao, Santa Barbara, Mapandan, Bugallon), the northern portion of Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Pantabangan), Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, the northeastern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Garchitorena, Lagonoy, San Jose, Presentacion, Tinambac, Siruma, Goa), and Catanduanes
Over the next 24 hours, Crising will move northwestward and a landfall in mainland Cagayan or Babuyan Islands this afternoon or evening is possible. The post added, “Afterwards, it will move west northwestward traversing the northern portion of Northern Luzon until it exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow afternoon or evening.”
It is expected that within 12 hours, it will turn into a tropical storm.
Meanwhile, on July 18, classes were also suspended in different parts of the country due to the tropical cyclone. The decision was made to ensure the safety of students and school personnel.
