Ian de Leon does not support “groups” using the name of Nora Aunor
Actor Ian de Leon warns the public against foundations, organizations, and groups using the name of his mother, the late Superstar Nora Aunor.
The entertainment industry mourned the death of the veteran actress last April. Tribute messages to her were posted on social media, and many celebrities shared their fondest memories of her as they witnessed her humility and compassion despite her star status.
Many of her fans also expressed how sad they were about losing a Superstar like her. Being a National Artist, many prominent figures in the government showed respect for her. Her legacy in the Philippine entertainment industry will always be remembered through her critically acclaimed performance and how she treated people around her.

Three months after she died, other people used this way to take advantage of the public. In a recent social media post, Ian de Leon, Nora Aunor‘s son with veteran actor Christopher de Leon, clarified that he is not supporting any group or foundation that is using his mother’s name.
“Nais ko pong magbigay ng isang mahalagang paglilinaw tungkol sa mga lumalabas sa social media na may kaugnayan sa aming ina. Para po sa kaalaman ng lahat wala po akong anumang kaugnayan o pakikilahok sa anumang pundasyon, organisasyon, o grupo na nagsasabing sila ay kumakatawan sa kanyang pangalan, imahe, o pamana,” Ian stressed.

He added that he is not supporting these organized groups, including the financial help they are asking from the public.
“Dahil dito, hindi ko kinikilala, sinusuportahan, o pinahihintulutan ang anumang uri ng pangangalap o pagtanggap ng donasyon—salapi man o anumang bagay—mula sa alinmang grupo na may kaugnayan sa kanyang pangalan,” the actor said.
Ian also stressed that this statement was released for the welfare of the public and in order to maintain their mom’s good reputation. He also thanked the people for understanding.
