Sharlene San Pedro had this fierce reply to a netizen’s comment
Actress-content creator Sharlene San Pedro defended the Girl Group BINI against bashing because of how they reacted to Filipino snacks.
BINI is one of the most popular P-pop groups nowadays. Their virality scored them various endorsements and concerts not just in the Philippines but also abroad. During the US leg of their recent world tour, the 8-member all-girl group guested on the YouTube show People Vs Food.
They were asked to try famous Filipino snacks such as mixed nuts, kwek-kwek, hopiang baboy, chocolate bar nuts, isaw, yema, balut, betamax, mamon, turon, and taho.

This video garnered negative comments on social media because many netizens did not like how the girls reacted to the foods that many Filipinos grew up eating. Some netizens particularly mentioned BINI Sheena and Gwen.
Amid this issue, netizens recalled BINI’s past videos showing that they were eating street food. For netizens, the group’s popularity allegedly changed their attitude.
Even though there were netizens who attacked the Nation’s Girl Group, Blooms (the group’s fandom), defended them. One of the well-known personalities who defended BINI was Sharlene San Pedro.
In her post on X, formerly Twitter, Sharlene fired back at netizens attacking BINI. She pointed out that people have their preferences, and they can be different from other people’s choices.

“Pa rant.. bakit kaya ang daming taong nagrereact at humuhusga sa naka trim down na video? kahit di niyo pa naman napanuod yung buong video sa yt. saka hello di talaga lahat ng pinoy ay trip ang lahat ng filipino food,” the former child star stressed.
She also said that people were just riding on the hate because the subject is relevant. A netizen reacted to what Sharlene said. “Sharlene hindi mo ba gets? Yes okay lang na hindi nila gusto yung pagkain but how they say it sa tingin mo okay lang? Saying ew, kadiri while making those cringe expressions as if na first nilang maka kita nun like what the heck,” a netizen commented.
The actress-content creator said to the fan that she should stop talking, especially since she was not the one eating those foods in the vlog. Then, Sharlene said, “focus ka nalang sa cb (comeback) ng gg (girld group) mo.”

Then the netizen asked if it was really the first time for BINI to have a taste of those Pinoy snacks, and that she does not need to focus on her girl group because their comeback was a success. Apparently, the netizen is a fan of the K-pop group Twice.
