LTO suspends the license of Cherry White over unsafe driving.
CHERRY WHITE LICENSE – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended the vlogger’s license due to a viral video of her driving unsafely.
In order to maintain orderliness and safety on the road, rules and regulations were set that must be followed. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is an agency and among its functions, includes registering motor vehicles, issuing driver’s and conductor’s licenses and permits, enforcing transportation laws and regulations, adjudicating apprehension cases, and promoting safety and comfort in land travel.Β

Previously, businessman and vlogger Josh Mojica’s license was suspended by the LTO after he committed a violation. He was issued a Show Cause Order for using a gadget while driving, which is deemed extremely dangerous. He apologized for doing this.
Recently, another vlogger’s license was suspended after a video of her engaging in unsafe driving practices went viral. LTO Executive Director Greg Pua Jr. said Cherry White, whose real name is Cherrylyn Gonzaga, was seen in the video casually driving while one leg was raised onto the driverβs seat.
PuaΒ noted that such a position and behavior might lead to “road accidents that may endanger not only Whiteβs life but also that of other users.”
βThe information we received was that this personality has a strong following on social media and the video showing her unsafe driving practice is dangerous since it could be misinterpreted that it is okay to do that,β said Pua.
The investigation started, and a Show Cause Order was issued. She is ordered to clear herself on why she should not be held liable for violation of Sec. 27 (a) (being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle) of Republic Act No. 4136, Land Transportation and Traffic Code, and reckless driving.
Her license was preventively suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle used in the video was placed under alarm while the investigation is still ongoing.
