This is what Albee Benitez said after charges filed by his wife were dismissed.
Bacolod City Rep. Albee Benitez moves forward after the case filed against him by his wife, Nikki Lopez-Benitez, was dismissed by the court.
Businessman and politician Albee Benitez received a complaint filed by his wife, Nikki Lopez-Benitez, for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

Actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi was mentioned in the VAWC complaint, which put the spotlight again on the personalities rumored to be in a relationship. The politician vehemently denied the involvement of Alawi in the case.
Benitez expressed that it was unsettling to see someone, an “unrelated third party,” in the case, that, for him, was a clear attempt to manipulate public opinion.
In an update, the case filed was junked due to insufficient evidence. The complainant did not provide sufficient evidence that would merit the filing of a case before a court. Following the verdict, Benitez, through his spokesman, Councilor Ceasar Distrito, expressed that this is now the time to move on.
He asked the public to put “this matter now be laid to rest, and that innocent individuals, especially my children, are given the privacy to move forward away from this controversy.”
The politician added, “Throughout this process, I remained silent out of respect for my family and confidence in the legal system. This resolution confirms what I have maintained from the beginning — that the accusations were baseless and malicious.”
In the verdict, the prosecutor found no basis following a thorough legal review to charge him with economic abuse or psychological violence. There was no evidence to support her claims, and the prosecutor also noted that allegations of marital infidelity were based on hearsay and unreliable evidence.
