Ciara Sotto and James Yap’s rumored relationship was discussed online
Actress Ciara Sotto broke her silence on her rumored relationship with basketball player-politician James Yap.
Three years ago, a rumor surfaced that there was something romantic between James. Back then, the actress immediately debunked the rumor. She explained that she and James were just seatmates at Annabelle Rama’s birthday party in 2022 and the rumor kind of started there.
Just recently, a netizen shared a post saying that it was allegedly confirmed that James and Ciara are now a couple. However, when a friend of the basketball player was asked about this, that friend had no idea.
Based on the article in Abante, Ciara Sotto was asked directly by the Anneyong column of the Abante Tonite, and she debunked the rumors linking her to James Yap.
The actress said she and James are just friends and they have known each other for quite a long time. “No, he’s a friend. He’s a good friend of mine. Matagal na kaming magkaibigan. Kilala ko na siya, Purefoods days pa. Kasi teammate sila ni Marc Pingris,” the actress said. Marc is the husband of Ciara’s cousin Danica Sotto.
Meanwhile, James has not spoken yet about the rumor linking him to Ciara. The basketball player was also silent about his unconfirmed breakup with his partner Michela Cazzola. They had two children.
The breakup rumors started circulating in May last year. It was rumored that they were working out to have a good co-parenting relationship for their two children.
However, in August 2024, James and Michela appeared to have debunked the breakup rumors as they celebrated their child’s birthday together. It is known to many that before Michela, James was married to Queen of all Media Kris Aquino, and they had a son, Bimby.
