Emil Sumangil received support for his reports about the “missing sabungeros” case
The wife of Kapuso journalist Emil Sumangil asked for prayers from netizens amid the issue involving businessman Atong Ang.
Atong was accused by Julie “Dondon” Patidongan or Alias Totoy, of being the mastermind behind the “missing sabungeros.” Allegedly, former actress Gretchen Barretto was also involved in this. The “whistleblower” made this revelation in an interview with Emil.
The wealthy businessman denied the allegations against him and he filed a case against Alias Totoy. Atong accused the whistleblower of extorting money from him.
Gretchen’s camp also denied the allegation that she was involved in this issue. The former actress stressed that this is just a made-up story about her.

In a recent Facebook post, Emil’s wife, Michelle Tolentino Sumangil shared an art card from People’s Tonight. It showed an edited photo of the Kapuso journalist, and his background was the images of Atong, Gretchen, and Alias Totoy.
The art card stated, “Protect Emil Sumangil at all cost” and it mentioned that netizens expressed worry for the journalist’s safety after his interview with the “whistleblower.”
In Michelle’s caption, she asked the public to pray for her husband. “We would like to thank the netizens who first initiated and called for the safety and protection of my husband, Emil Sumangil. Your concern, prayers, and vigilance brought light and strength to us during this time,” she wrote. Emil’s wife also shared her personal prayer for her husband.
In the comment section of the post, Emil received support from netizens who also prayed for his safety.
