Emil Sumangil Gives Thoughts to Claims He Will Be the Next Mike Enriquez
Journalist Emil Sumangil shares thoughts on the claims that he will be the next Mike Enriquez of the Kapuso network.
GMA 7 is grooming broadcast journalist and TV anchor Emil Sumangil to be the next Mike Enriquez, according to Kapuso viewers. Emil has been chosen to host the latest public report on the Kapuso Network, which will premiere on Sunday, May 7, titled “Resibo: Walang Lusot Ang May Atraso.”
This is one of the reasons why many viewers and netizens believe Emil will follow in the footsteps of Mike, who is likewise renowned as the sanctuary of the oppressed and outraged. Mike, who became popular in his program “Imbestigador,” hasn’t been seen on GMA in a few years.
This is also due to his medical condition. Mike Enriquez had a kidney transplant a few years ago and has since returned to work as a host and newscaster. But, just a few months later, he said goodbye to his programs once more in order to take a break.
During the press conference for “Resibo,” the so-called “Mr. Exclusive” was asked what his reaction is to those who say he has been chosen by GMA to be the next Mike Enriquez, and he stated that he is very far from surpassing Mike Enriquez.
“Parang suntok sa buwan eh. Malayo. Hindi po yata natin kayang pantayan or higitan si Mike Enriquez. Binigyan po ako ng platform ng GMA para ipakita ko naman yung aking kakayahan,” he said.
“Dito ko pagsusumikapan ibigay ang aking nalalaman kung paano ako makakatulong sa Diyos at bayan. Ginagawa po namin ang aming trabaho na walang halong personal interest. Ang storyang gagawin po namin ay hindi para sa amin kundi para sa taong bayan para makapaghatid ng public service,” he added, based on the article of Bandera.
The GMA Public Affairs host’s thankfulness for the new opportunity is overwhelming. Emil also stated that he will personally go to the field to deal with our countrymen’s problems and grievances in various parts of the country. Furthermore, the program will work with government agencies to expedite action.
According to Emil, one of the purposes of the show is to allow our countrymen’s complaints and grievances to be heard, to expose illegal and wrongful activities, and to take immediate action by providing concrete solutions to those experienced by the Filipino people, whether inside or outside our country.
