DOE Eyes Another Round of Oil Price Rollback on Tuesday (July 8, 2025)

Another Round of Oil Price Rollback Expected Next Week, DOE Says

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – The Department of Energy is expecting another round of oil price rollback starting Tuesday (July 8, 2025)

Filipino motorists can expect another round of fuel price rollbacks next week, giving a bit of breathing space after the consecutive big increases.

The Energy Department shared that prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene are likely to go down again, marking the second straight week of reductions.

Oil Price Rollback

Based on recent trading trends, the expected price cuts are:

  • Gasoline: down by P0.80 to P1.00 per liter
  • Diesel: down by P0.20 to P0.50 per liter
  • Kerosene: down by around P0.80 per liter

The official adjustments will be announced by fuel companies on Monday and will take effect on Tuesday.

Subject pa ho iyan ng adjustment for the additional one day trading today,”  Rino Abad, Director of the DOE Oil Industry Management Bureau said.

Oil Price Rollback

The rollback is mainly due to the continued ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which has helped ease fears of supply disruptions in global oil markets. Another reason is the increase in oil production this July after OPEC+ allowed a boost in output.

These developments have helped stabilize supply and reduce global prices. However, despite these rollbacks, prices remain much higher than they were at the start of the year.

In just the last two weeks, fuel prices jumped significantly, gasoline went up by P3.50 per liter, diesel by P5.20, and kerosene by P4.80. Even with this week’s and next week’s reductions, the increases haven’t been fully offset.

As of July 1, the year’s net increase stands at P9 per liter for gasoline, P10.05 for diesel, and P1.85 for kerosene.
