Atong Ang Accuses “Totoy” Of Extorting P300 Million From Him

The camp of Atong Ang has this accusation against whistleblower “Alyas Totoy”

Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, “Alyas Totoy,” was accused of extorting money from businessman Atong Ang.

Totoy surfaced and caught the attention of the media and the public after he claimed that he had information about the “missing sabungeros.”

He became a whistleblower and pointed his finger at Atong as the mastermind, and, allegedly, former actress Gretchen Barretto was involved in this. Following the revelations from Totoy, the businessman’s camp categorically denied the accusations.

Atong Ang also questioned Patidongan’s credibility, as well as that of another former employee, Alan Bantiles, who was known as “Alyas Brown.”

The wealthy businessman hired the services of Atty. Lorna Kapunan as his legal counsel. Based on the article in Bandera, in an exclusive interview with TV5 journalist Cheryl Cosim, the lawyer stressed that the supposed whistleblowers extorted P300 million from her client.

Sabi nga nila, bakit wala pang ini-issue na affidavit? Ang totoo diyan, wala pa siyang ini-issue na affidavit pointing to these perpetrators because umiikot siya and extorting money for those he says and threatens to name. That is why Sir Atong Ang is coming forward in his attempt to bring out the truth,” Atty. Kapunan said.

When asked how the extortion happened and whether Atong Ang and Totoy met, the lawyer said that they have evidence and they will show it in due course in the case that they will file. She said that it is an exchange of text messages to prove the extortion.

The lawyer has not elaborated on the details of the evidence she mentioned, but she was sure that they would release this in due time.

Atty. Kapunan also contradicted the statement from the Department of Justice that Totoy has the credibility to be a state witness.
