Teenage Boy Lost His Life After Being Shot by Fellow Teen at Cemetery
A 14-year-old teenage boy died after being shot by another teenager inside a public cemetery in Taguig City.
On Tuesday evening (June 24, 2025), a young man has lost his life after being shot by his fellow teen inside the Tuktukan Public Cemetery along Bagong Kalsada in Taguig City
According to CCTV footage, the victim was sitting on the rooftop of a mausoleum with several other young boys when he suddenly fell and landed on the street below. Barangay tanods who responded to the scene found the boy still alive and rushed him to the hospital.
Unfortunately, he passed away early the next morning. Nearby residents said they heard around three to four gunshots before discovering the boy’s body. They were shocked, as they initially thought the group was just casually hanging out.
Most of them were unfamiliar with the victim and his companions. Initial police investigation pointed to four unidentified males as possible suspects. But during a follow-up operation, authorities were able to identify and locate the shooter, a 16-year-old boy classified as a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL).
The teen suspect surrendered to the authorities around 9 a.m. the next day, with the help of his father. In his statement, he admitted to the shooting and said it happened out of curiosity.
He claimed that after coming from a nearby computer shop, he saw his friend sitting on top of the mausoleum. He pulled out a gun and accidentally fired it, hitting the 14-year-old.
Out of fear, the teen said he threw the gun away and ran home. He also confessed that he and the victim had previously been involved in car theft and other minor crimes.
Authorities are now handling the case and continuing the investigation.
