Male Netizen Finds Mom’s Hidden Savings
A male netizen was surprised after discovering his mother’s hidden savings inside an old cabinet.
“Wala akong idea kung ano yung meron sa loob nito kasi nga simula nung ginawa to ng tatay ko, wala kaming nakita na nilagay dito or pinasok. So nanay ko lang talaga yung nakakaalam kung ano,” Fred said
It all started when Fred and his sibling were cleaning their house in April 2025. While sorting through some old bags their mother was planning to throw away, they unexpectedly found stacks of old bills.
“Naglilinis kasi kami ng bahay. Ayan, nakita ng tatay ko yung bag. Ayan yung natabi sa isang malaking bag,” he said.
Some were still crisp, while others had faded paper rings where rubber bands had melted over time.
Fred counted everything and was shocked to find a total of P98,940. This discovery sparked his interest in checking more of his mother’s old belongings. One day, while she was away, Fred decided to open an old cabinet that had been left untouched for many years. It was built by his father, but only his mother knew what was inside.
As he looked through the contents, Fred found more bags and wallets, each containing bundles of carefully hidden money. One of the bags even had old work bonuses from his father amounting to P15,000, still in good condition despite being from 2015.
“Seryoso. Sa totoo lang bigla nga akong kinabahan nung nakita ko nga itong isang supot galing sa isang malaking bag. Ano pa rin ng tatay ko guys ah mga bonus sa trabaho total na 15,000 guys tingnan niyo alikabokan so 2015 pa yung pera guys pero malutong okay malutong sila ayan oh ganito pala kasinop sa pera yung nanay k ang galing nung disiplina niya pagdating sa pagtatago ng pera,” he explained.
The male netizen was amazed by how disciplined and thrifty his mother had been. She managed to save money quietly over the years, hiding them neatly in places no one would suspect.
Later, when his mother found out what he did, Fred suggested that they deposit the money in the bank to keep it safe. She agreed, and the family finally moved the hard-earned savings to a secure place.
Fred’s discovery not only revealed his mother’s impressive saving habits but also inspired them to take better care of their finances moving forward.
