CharEs Becomes First Finalist in PBB
PBB – Charlie and Esnyr surprised everyone by becoming the first pair to enter the PBB Big 4.
Mindanao is beaming with pride as Charlie Fleming and Esnyr Ranollo—popularly known as CharEs—became the first pair to officially secure a spot in the Big 4 of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition. Their unexpected rise to the top has captivated viewers, marking a compelling journey from overlooked housemates to strong contenders for the ultimate title.
The announcement came during the most recent episode, where the duo cleared the final hurdle before the highly anticipated Big Night. Their disbelief and emotional reactions highlighted the significance of the moment, especially considering their earlier challenges inside the house.

Interestingly, CharEs was among the last partnerships formed during the final pairing task. Other housemates had already chosen their partners, leaving Charlie and Esnyr matched by default. Despite this seemingly disadvantageous start, the duo displayed perseverance and teamwork throughout the competition.
Both Charlie and Esnyr had openly discussed their doubts about winning. As the breadwinners of their families, they believed they were at a disadvantage, especially since some of the voting processes in earlier rounds relied on a paid app. “Lugi,” or shortchanged, was how they described their situation in one episode.
However, their fate took a dramatic turn when fellow housemates and house challengers—not the public—cast the votes to determine who would move forward. CharEs received the majority, pushing them to the Big 4.

Charlie, from Cagayan de Oro, was the youngest contestant and had previously been evicted, only to return through a public vote. Esnyr, a Davao del Sur native, maintained a consistent presence and was never nominated for eviction—testament to his quiet strength and positive influence.
As the Big Night draws near in early July, four more pairs remain in the running: RaWi (Ralph de Leon and Will Ashley), DusBi (Dustin Yu and Bianca de Vera), AZVer (AZ Martinez and River Joseph), and BreKa (Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca).
Will CharEs’ underdog story lead to ultimate victory? Mindanao certainly hopes so.
