Missing Sabungeros In Taal Lake? Technical Divers Are Eyed To Look For Them

Technical divers are eyed to look for the missing sabungeros claimed to be in Taal Lake.

Are the missing sabungeros in Taal Lake? Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla said authorities will verify this.

It has been years already, and the truth regarding the sabungeros who went missing four years ago remains evasive. One of the suspects in the case recently emerged and expressed his willingness to testify in court.

Missing Sabungeros In Taal Lake

According to the suspect, the 34 missing sabungeros, or cockfighting enthusiasts, are already dead, and they were buried in Taal Lake in Batangas province. “Alias Totoy,” one of the six security guards accused of abducting the sabungeros, claimed that a tie wire was to strangle them.

According to him, there’d be no chance to identify them as they are probably now all bones, and he added that those who were buried there were not just the missing cockfighting enthusiasts, but also drug lords. The victims were allegedly those who were caught cheating in the cockpit.

To recall, it was in 2021 when authorities confirmed that sabungeros had disappeared. In 2022, a total of 34 sabungeros went missing.

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla recently stated that they have yet to identify this new information. They are eyeing technical divers to search the deep waters of Taal Lake.

“We will need tactical divers to do it kasi malalim din ‘yan. And it’s not easy to go into a lake bed to look for human remains,” Remulla said and added, “Kasi walang trace talaga. It can be a credible story kasi wala talaga trace. When you vanish without a trace, then it must be somewhere where people have not been able to look. Baka hindi natitingnan pa ‘yong lugar.”
