Batang Quiapo has a new contender, the Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre
The pilot episode of the Kapuso fantasy series Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre defeated the ratings of the Kapamilya action-drama series Batang Quiapo.
Ratings are very important when it comes to TV shows. This could determine the longevity of the show. Those that have high ratings would be extended and this is what happened to the shows of Kapamilya actor Coco Martin.
Coco’s series Ang Probinsyano was well-accepted by fans as it ran from 2015 to 2022. This defeated several rival shows on GMA.
This was the same when Coco Martin’s series Batang Quiapo was released. It reigned the ratings game. However, this changed when Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre had its pilot episode on June 16.
A press release from GMA showed that the Kapuso fantasy series got 13.7 percent while Batang Quiapo had 12. 9 percent which is airing on TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya channel. This was based on the preliminary/overnight date of NUTAM People Ratings (Neilsen Phils. TAM].
This was shared on a popular showbiz site and netizens expressed happiness for the new Kapuso series because they did not want how the Kapamilya series turned into. They criticized the storyline of Batang Quiapo and they hoped that the Sang’gre series would maintain its quality. Here are some comments.
Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre is the spin-off of the 2016 series. The new series features Bianca Umali, Faith da Silva, Kelvin Miranda, and Angel Guardian as Sang’gres and it also includes Rhian Ramos, Bianca Manalo, the late Ricky Davao, and many more.
The original series was released in 2005 and featured Karylle, Diana Zubiri, Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon as Sang’gres, and Dingdong Dantes as Raquim while the remake in 2016 featured Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia, Glaiza de Castro, and Sanya Lopez as Sang’gres.
