Queenie Padilla Honors Robin as a Devoted Father & Faithful Role Model

Queenie Padilla Shares How Robin Shaped Her Faith

QUEENIE PADILLA – Former actress Queenie Padilla praised Robin Padilla for being a principled man who remains committed to doing what is right.

A day before Father’s Day, Queenie Padilla, a former actress, shared touching reflections about her father, actor-turned-senator Robin Padilla. In a special interview hosted by her stepmother, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, Queenie expressed deep admiration for her father, calling him “not corrupt” and “a living example of a good Muslim.”

She spoke about the significant role her father played in her personal and spiritual growth. “He’s very charitable. Everybody calls him a bad boy. But deep inside, he’s actually the kindest human being. He is really a living example of a good Muslim,” Queenie said. She continued, “Maybe at a younger age, I wasn’t able to appreciate it […] But Papa’s a big part of my journey to Islam, and I’ll be forever grateful to him.”

When asked to name her father’s best qualities, Queenie quickly responded with: “Brave. Responsible. Kind. Provider and not corrupt.” She further praised him, saying, “Papa is never corrupt. He’s a man of values, principles, morals, and integrity. I’m so proud of him.”

Queenie also reminisced about how she and her sister, Kylie Padilla, were raised under their father’s strict but loving guidance. “He trained us like actual soldiers. He would wake us up in the morning; we would jog, we would train. And when I turned 15 and my sister was 13 at that time, he brought us to Thailand, and we trained in Muay Thai for three months. We were like boys,” she recalled fondly.

Robin Padilla fathered Queenie and Kylie with his former wife, Liezl Sicangco. He now shares two daughters with his current wife, Mariel.

In recent times, however, Robin has been a figure of controversy. He received backlash for backing Senate Bill No. 2805, which seeks to give the MTRCB expanded powers over online content. He was also criticized for remarks made during a Senate debate on spousal rape, which women’s groups such as Gabriela condemned for “perpetuat[ing] machismo” and undermining women’s autonomy.

Still, Queenie’s words provided a sincere and affectionate glimpse into her relationship with her father.
