Rachel Alejandro admitted that she was surprised by Morissette as an actress
Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon showcased her acting prowess in the movie Song of the Fireflies and actress-singer Rachel Alejandro commended her.
Rachel has been in the industry for a long time. Aside from being a singer, she also did some acting projects on TV, movies, and even in theater.
In her most recent acting project, she worked with Morissette. In the movie featuring the story of Loboc Children’s Choir (LCC), Rachel played the character of cultural advocate Enriqueta “Equet” Butalid, based on the article in PEP.

In a recent interview, Rachel Alejandro had nothing but praise of Morissette Amon who played Alma Fernando-Taldo in the movie, the founder and musical director ng Loboc Children’s Choir.
When asked how it was like working with Morissette, Rachel said, “Ayun, hanggang talampakan ang buhok ko. Ang haba ng hair ko. Ha! Ha! Ha!”
She also said that she did not know what to expect in working with the Asia’s Phoenix. They met in the past a few times before working together but it was just short moments like when the time when they had performances on ASAP Natin ‘To. On the other hand, Rachel said that she has always admired Morissette.
“And every time, even before doing Song of the Fireflies, every time may magtatanong sa akin na sinong artist of the next generation ang gusto kong maka-collaborate or maybe do a duet with, lagi kong sinasabi, Morissette. OK,” the singer-actress said.
Rachel Alejandro had the chance she was waiting for and they had a duet in the movie. Referring to Mori’s portrayal, Rachel said, “So I was very, very pleasantly surprised at how ang galing-galing ni Mori dito sa role na ito.”
The singer-actress added that she was not surprised at all that Mori received recognition for her role. Rachel said that it is admirable that it is Mori’s first acting project and she already delivered what her character needed.
“Yung mga eksena namin kasi, maraming parts doon na parang, alam mo yun, parang medyo nagka-clash yung characters. Pero I think it wouldn’t have worked kung hindi talagang natural actress si Mori,” Rachel Alejandro said about her co-star.
