Did Paolo Contis and his fellow TP hosts still unpaid by TAPE Inc?
An issue about unpaid talent fees of Tahanang Pinakamasaya hosts led by actor Paolo Contis surfaced after TAPE Inc.’s recent issue.
Entertainment company Television and Production Exponents Incorporated is facing an estafa case filed by GMA Network. TAPE’s noontime show was airing on the Kapuso network for many years. It started with the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga pioneered by the iconic TVJ trio.
However, a conflict occurred between the EB hosts led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon and the management of TAPE. Eventually, TVJ and the Dabarkads resigned and moved to TV5. The court sided with TVJ as they were allowed to use the Eat Bulaga title.

Because of that TAPE Inc. was obligated to change the show’s name to Tahanang Pinakamasaya. The new set of hosts was led by Paolo Contis.
Amid the recent issue, based on the article in PEP, when the TP hosts heard about this, it was said that they hoped that their problem would also gain attention. It has been more than a year since the show stopped airing but they still have unpaid talent fees.
Reportedly, the hosts still had to get more than a month’s worth of their salaries from TAPE. Aside from Paolo Contis, other hosts like Glaiza de Castro, Buboy Villar, Chariz Solomon, Betong Sumaya, Kokoy de Santos, Mavy Legaspi, Cassy Legaspi, Michael Sager, Arra San Agustin, Yasser Marta, Alexa Miro, Kimpoy Feliciano, and Mayor Isko Moreno still have to get their salaries from the entertainment company.
Most of the hosts are contract stars of Sparkle GMA Artist Center. With this, PEP writer Jojo Gabinete said that for sure, the Kapuso management is doing something to address the issue.

It was also said that the TP hosts described TAPE President at CEO Romeo “Jon” Jalosjos Jr. and his brother company treasurer Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos were “mabait at maayos kausap.” With this, they were expecting the TAPE management will fulfill their financial obligations to them.
As of this writing, TAPE Inc. has not released an official statement yet regarding the estafa case filed by GMA Network. In an initial reaction from the entertainment company’s legal counsel Atty. Maggie Garduque, it was said that TAPE has yet to receive a document regarding the complaint.
