JANICE DE BELEN – Actress Janice de Belen couldn’t believe her luck when she was called onstage to meet her ultimate K-drama crush, Song Joong Ki, during his fan meet in Manila.
Veteran actress and proud K-drama fan Janice de Belen had a dream-come-true moment at the “I AM Song Joong Ki: Live in Manila” event held at the MOA Arena on May 24, 2025.
The fan meet featured an endearing segment called “Ready, Set, Bloom,” inspired by Song Joong Ki’s upcoming K-drama My Youth, where he plays a florist. Tasked with arranging a bouquet within three minutes, the Korean star charmed the crowd by sharing that pink is his favorite color—perfectly matching the blooms provided. He completed the challenge with time to spare and announced he’d gift the bouquet, along with a signed poster, to a lucky fan.
As he and host Janeena Chan scanned the crowd, they chose someone special—none other than Janice de Belen. Shock and excitement filled the arena as Janice walked to the stage, with Song Joong Ki gently reminding her to move “dahan-dahan” (slowly), repeating the Filipino phrase with heart-melting sincerity.
Onstage, the pair shared multiple hugs, handshakes, and plenty of heartwarming eye contact. Song Joong Ki even got down on one knee to hand over the bouquet, much to the delight of Janice and the screaming fans. “Nice to meet you,” he said warmly, and Janice, clearly overjoyed, could barely contain her emotions.
In a post on Instagram, Janice gushed about the unforgettable encounter. “I really did not expect to be on the same stage as my crush!!! May bonus pang flowers at madaming yakap,” she wrote. She also revealed that Song Joong Ki holds a special place in her heart because his drama Descendants of the Sun helped her cope with her mother’s passing.
The event, Song Joong Ki’s first fan meet in Manila and his second visit to the Philippines, became even more special with Janice de Belen’s touching fan moment—one she’ll surely treasure forever.
