Lani Misalucha talked about the changes she encountered as a singer
Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha admitted the moment when she was “sintonado” or out of tune during a performance.
Lani is one of the OPM icons who is being admired for her amazing talent as a singer. She has inspired many younger singers to reach the same heights she has received in her music career.
However, a challenging time came to her when her sense of hearing was compromised because of her illness. She and her husband fought for their lives after contracting bacterial meningitis.

Since it affected her sense of hearing, her singing was also affected. In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Lani Misalucha was asked if there was a time during a performance when she was out of tune.
“Oh yes, yes!!! Yes. Oh my gulay! When talking about out of tune, yes,” the prominent singer said.
After getting out of the hospital, she was not able to go back to The Clash, the Kapuso singing contest in which she was one of the judges. Then, she was told that the show would have a concert special and she was asked to at the Christmas special.
“Siyempre, ‘Omigosh, tama ba ito?’ I actually turned it down. And then sabi nila, ‘Sige na, Lani, try mo, try mo,’” she shared. The song that she will perform was ‘O Holy Night.’

She recorded the song but had to re-record it. “Take. Shoot. Roll! I had to redo it. Sintonado pala ako for the most part. Kasi nga, ang nadidinig ko, iba,” Lani shared.
She was hearing differently and so she was singing a different tune. The register that was entering her brain would be the one that she would sing. Lani admitted that she had a hard time singing at that time because she had been under steroids for over a month.
Aside from that, Lani Misalucha also said that her voice became thicker. “Parang ganun yung feeling ko, lumaki yung boses ko, bumaba, and then hindi ko nahi-hit yung mga notes. So yes, I wanna let you know na oo, nagsintonado talaga ako,” the Asia’s Nightingale said.
