Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Releases Statement amid Ongoing Election Results Tally
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President called on the Filipinos to join in building “a powerful and principled opposition”.
Vice Pres. Duterte campaigned fervently for her senatorial bets. She endorsed the PDP-Laban candidates of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, as well as the senatorial candidacies of Senator Imee Marcos and Manny Villar’s daughter, Las Piñas district representative Camille Villar.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte denied campaigning for self gains nor the benefit of her father who is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands. On the May 12 Elections, she voted at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) in Barangay Matina, Davao. Her father is also a registered voter assigned in the same school.

During the campaign period, the younger Duterte joined several local campaign sorties to endorse her senatorial slate. According to her, the senatorial candidates she support share a common vision of a peaceful and prosperous Philippines.

While she acknowledged the results of the election, she admitted that the results were not the outcome that she had hoped for. Meanwhile, the Vice President reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the people to continue to hold the government accountable and work hard.
