In a post, Dimples Romana shares her thoughts on doing the heartbreaking story of the Maguad Family.
ABS-CBN actress Dimples Romana bared her pain and explained how difficult it was to tell the tragic and heartbreaking story of the Maguad family.
Bruises, strangulation marks, and stab wounds in the bodies of his two children bathing in their own blood, were the horrifying sight that welcomed a father in the small, quiet town of M’lang in North Cotabato one afternoon. This happened on December 10, 2021. Brutal seemed to be an understatement to describe the fate of these children in the hands of the suspects.

This story is widely known in the country as the Maguad Family or the Maguad Siblings story. The one who “survived” the gruesome incident, left with nothing at all, and was even fresh from the bath at that time was Janice Sebial, the adopted daughter.
In this story, the most horrifying of all was not the deep wounds that killed the siblings, but who did it. The investigation was done, and the family’s adopted daughter, Janice, was found guilty. She confessed to committing the crime, and it was believed that sibling rivalry had led her to do it.
The confession closed the case.

Years after this tragedy, the story will be featured in Maalaala Mo Kaya, and old wounds and past trauma have been opened again. The episode features artists such as Dimples Romana as the mother, Joem Bascon as the father, Miguel Vergara as Crizzule Louis, Criza Taa as Crizzle Gwen, and Karina Bautista as Janice.
In an Instagram post, Dimples opens up about giving life to the story, and as a storyteller, this is, by far, the “most difficult and most painful story” he has ever told. She wrote, “All kinds of stories. This story in particular is by far the most difficult and most painful story I have ever had the privilege of telling.”
As a parent herself, she expressed how unimaginable it would be to lose a child. She added, “The Maguad family story has left a mark in my heart that will never go away. To pull this off, I heavily relied on our entire team’s strength, support, and guidance.”
