The driver involved in the NAIA Terminal 1 accident underwent DAAT, and the result has been released.
NAIA TERMINAL 1 ACCIDENT – The driver of the SUV that caused the tragedy tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
The incident that occurred on Sunday morning at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 has left many broken. The accident at the NAIA cost two lives – a five-year-old girl and a 29-year-old breadwinner man. Four people were also injured.

The SUV driver will be facing multiple charges, such as reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple injuries, and damage to property. Initially, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) also preventively suspended the driver’s license of the driver for 90 days.
These cases are bailable.
The SUV driver was then arrested by police, and following the arrest, he underwent a series of tests and medical evaluations. The suspect is detained at the AVSEGROUP’s mobile patrol security unit detention facility.
According to the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEG), the drug and alcohol test of the 47-year-old driver came out negative. This means he was not under the influence of any substance when the accident occurred.
Based on the investigation, the driver dropped off his boss early morning on Sunday. He was rattled that instead of stepping on the brake, he stepped hard on the accelerator, which made things turn out worse. The driver also claimed that he was rattled because of the car in front that cut him off, but the recording suggested a different thing.
The driver holds a professional driver’s license. He is a company driver and has worked as a driver overseas.
As for the victims, the child died of “blunt force trauma to the head and left lower extremities,” while the 29-year-old victim died of “blunt force trauma to the head and spinal cord.”
