According to The Philippine Star, the accident occurred when a vehicle suddenly accelerated from the parking lot, crashing into the departure area where travelers and their families were gathered. Among the fatalities was a young girl, whose final moments with her father—an overseas Filipino worker—were described in an emotional report by ABS-CBN News. The OFW, identified as Mark Masongsong, had just hugged and kissed his daughter goodbye when tragedy struck.
