Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Speaks on Speculations that VP Sara May Be Arrested and Detained at ICC, too
PAOLO DUTERTE – The eldest son of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte joked on their whole family being detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) facility.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is detained at the ICC detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands for more than a month now. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has returned to the Philippines last month after finalizing the ICC legal team of the former President.
Vice Pres. Duterte stayed at The Hague for more than three (3) weeks to set the ICC legal team of her father. The team is led by British-Israeli lawyer Nicholas Kaufman and it also includes French lawyer Dr. Dov Jacobs.
When the Vice President flew back to the Philippines, Duterte’s long-time partner Honeylet Avanceña and their daughter, Kitty, were left in The Hague. The common-law wife of the former President waited for the arrival of Davao City Cong. Paolo Duterte in The Hague before she returned to the country.
Congressman Pulong is now with his daughter, Sab, in The Hague. Undeniably, many Filipinos staying outside the ICC detention facility are entertained by the banters and funny remarks of the Davao Congressman who seemed to have taken the humor of the former President.
Recently, outside the ICC detention facility, Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte was asked about the reaction of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte on some people claiming that VP Sara is the next to be detained inside the facility. The remarks probably came after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that her name is on the ICC list of personalities who might be arrested.
Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that there were many names on the list. According to VP Sara, Senator Bato dela Rosa’s name is also in the ICC list and is allegedly ahead of hers. She also mentioned former PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde, former Police General Vicente Danao Jr., and Police Major General Romeo Caramat Jr. as among the people whose names are allegedly on the ICC list.
Cong. Paolo Duterte responded to the question over his sister’s possible detention at the ICC with a joke that all of them in the family can be detained at the facility. According to him, it is fine with him as everything is free inside the ICC detention facility. However, he claimed that his mother would disagree with it.
“Okay lang kahit kaming lahat na lang, diyan na lang ang buong pamilya namin. Libre security, libre kain, libre lahat, okay na. Diyan na lang kaming lahat pero ang aking ina ang hindi papayag, ako okay na ako,” Congressman Pulong said based on the post.
Previously, Malacañang reacted to the claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that her name is on the ICC list of people who might be arrested.
