When it comes to versatility and real talent, Ricky Davao was among those looked up to by a lot of celebrities. In a previous article, his daughter, Ara Davao, confirmed his death. He was 63, and he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones after his fight with complications related to cancer.

A look into his legacy
He was Frederick Charles Caballes Davao in real life, and as an actor, he had several accolades under his belt. He was an actor and director for 47 years, and during this time, he was able to make over 130 movies and over 30 television series.
It all started in 1978 when he landed a role in Patayin Si… Mediavillo, which was led by Fernando Poe Jr. It was then followed by small roles in movies Totoo Ba Ang Tsismis? (1981), Ang Babae Sa Ulog (1981), Schoolgirls (1981), Condemned (1984), Ang Padrino (1984), and Bulaklak Sa City Jail (1984).
From small roles, he was given bigger opportunities which left a mark through White Slavery (1985), Magdusa Ka (1986), Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin (1987), Huwag Mong Buhayin Ang Bangkay (1987), and Saan Nagtatago ang Pag-ibig? (1987).
He was the leading man in films Misis Mo, Misis Ko (1988), Natutulog Pa Ang Diyos (1988), Isusumbong Kita Sa Diyos (1988), Huwag Mong Itanong Kung Bakit (1988), and Abot Hanggang Sukdulan (1989).
He also did action movies such as Alyas Boy Life (1989), Pagputok ng Araw, Babaha ng Dugo (1989), Eagle Squad (1989), Leon ng Maynila: P/Col. Romeo B. Maganto (1991), Takas Sa Impiyerno (1981), Patayin si Billy Zapanta – Order of Battle: Enemy No. 1 (1992), Berdugo ng Munti (1992), Magkasangga 2000 (1993), Asero (1995), at Moises Arcanghel – Sa Guhit ng Bala (1996).
