Running with Purpose: Alden Richards Trains for Tokyo and Beyond
ALDEN RICHARDS – Kapuso star Alden Richards is gearing up for a series of running events, with the Tokyo Marathon being one of his biggest goals.
Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards is pushing his dedication to health and fitness to greater levels as he gears up for various athletic and entertainment ventures. Renowned for his dynamic roles as an actor, host, and performer, Alden is now also diving deeper into endurance sports such as running, cycling, and CrossFit.
According to a 24 Oras report by Lhar Santiago, the Kapuso actor is currently in training for several upcoming races. One of his near-term objectives is to complete a 16-kilometer run at “Lights, Camera, Run! Takbo Para Sa Pelikulang Pilipino,” a charity event by Mowelfund scheduled for May 11 that supports the local film industry.

Looking further ahead, Alden has set plans to run a half marathon this December and has his eyes set on the Tokyo Marathon in March 2026 — one of the world’s most renowned races. “Hopefully, tinatrabaho ko na rin po to really get a slot for the Tokyo Marathon next year,” he shared, underscoring his serious commitment to the sport.
According to the report, in addition to his athletic goals, Alden is making a comeback in the dance scene. He’s set to host GMA Network’s new dance competition show Stars on the Floor. More than just presenting, he’s also rehearsing for a special dance performance that will be showcased on the program.
“Hindi naman kinalawang nang konti pero parang bumagal lang yung pick-up but with this, hopefully, bumalik ulit. And andito pa rin naman pala e, andito pa rin ‘yung dancing skills natin,” he said, expressing his excitement to reconnect with his dance background and entertain viewers once again.

With a demanding schedule packed with training and showbiz responsibilities, Alden Richards continues to embody discipline, passion, and drive — both on stage and in sports.
