Teen Lost His Life After Electrocution While Plugging in Charger

A teen tragically lost his life after he was electrocuted while plugging a charger into an extension cord on Good Friday.

Electrocution happens when a person gets hurt or even dies because electricity passes through their body. It usually happens by accident, like touching a live wire, plugging in something incorrectly, or using electrical devices near water.

Electrocution is very dangerous but can be prevented by taking simple safety steps. Teaching kids and reminding adults about electrical safety can help save lives. Small actions, like checking your wires and being careful when plugging things in, make a big difference.

On Good Friday (April 18, 2025), a heartbreaking accident took the life of 17-year-old Raymart Manalo. At home with his family, Raymart tried to plug a charger into an extension cord when the incident happened.

According to his father, Raymart accidentally touched one of the metal prongs of the charger while inserting it. This caused an electric shock strong enough to make him jolt. In the commotion, a pitcher of water on the table was knocked over, spilling onto the floor.

Unfortunately, Raymart collapsed right into the puddle, and the presence of water made the electrocution much worse. One of his siblings rushed to help. Although the sibling also felt a strong shock, they managed to pull away in time and quickly unplugged the charger, preventing the situation from getting even worse.

Raymart’s family wasted no time and rushed him to the nearest hospital. Doctors tried to bring him back, but sadly, their efforts were not enough. He was declared dead shortly after arrival.

His mother, heartbroken, shared that Raymart was her eldest child and had just been spending time playing with his siblings before the incident. Now, their family is left with the painful and sudden loss of a son and brother, struggling to accept that a simple mistake led to such a tragic incident.

  1. A life wasted bcoz of a charger. Please teach your children not to be complacent in plugging appliances or other devices. They can really cause a shock. Even adults are not spared from it.
