Rabiya Mateo tried to reach out to her father and she did not get the result she expected
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo said that she found the closure she needed after she was rejected by her father.
Rabiya grew up with her mom in Iloilo. At a young age, her parents already separated. Though her life moved on after her father left, Rabiya still wanted to reconnect with him.
With this intention, Rabiya opted to go to the US to find her father. However, the result she expected did not happen.
Rabiya Mateo was able to know where her father was and she contacted him. Sadly, she was rejected. Based on a previous article, Rabiya’s father is now a successful doctor in the US. She was told blatantly not to reach out again.
“Don’t message me and my family. I don’t care about you. I want nothing to do with you,” Rabiya received this message from her father.
The Kapuso actress also tried to reach out to her half-sister but she received the same rejection. In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Rabiya shared that it was the closure she needed.
It has long been her plan to find and reconnect with her father. She asked for a vacation from GMA in order to do this. “Nangyari naman siya pero hindi lang sa resultang ine-expect ko or gusto ko. However, it’s the closure that I needed,” the beauty queen-turned-actress said.
Although her plan did not succeed, she chose to focus her attention on the positive side. She said that she was able to know that she has half-siblings and that she really has a father.
“I’m happy that he’s okay, iyon ‘yung importante doon. So anytime naman, bukas naman ‘yung pintuan ko for my family doon sa U.S.,” Rabiya Mateo said optimistically. She also took her free time to relax, unwind, and try new things such as skydiving and wakeboarding.
