The show must go on for the fellow OPM Hitmakers of Hajji Alejandro

The death of singer Hajji Alejandro added sadness to the grieving that the entertainment industry experienced after the death of icons Pilita Corrales and Nora Aunor.

Hajji’s career continue to inspire younger artists. In recent years, he has been doing shows with his fellow OPM Hitmakers, Nonoy Zuñiga, Rey Valera and Marco Sison.

The father of singer-actress Rachel Alejandro died on April 21 and on the next day, the Alejandro family released a statement asking the public to respect their privacy.

Many celebrities and fans expressed sadness for Hajji Alejandro’s death and they also showed love and support for the late singer’s family and loved ones.

Based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Hajji’s fellow OPM Hitmakers spoke about his death. Nonoy Zuñiga said that he was shocked by this sad news but as the famous line goes, “the show must go on.”

“That’s one thing I like about him, he’s a professional. Kahanga-hanga siya as a performer, moreso as an individual. Nakakalungkot, parang ayaw na namin lahat mag-perform pero as entertainers the show must go on,” Nonoy said.

He also said that in their every performance, they know that Hajji will be there with them. “‘Yung spirit nila, ‘yung energy nila nasa amin. And that inspires us to perform better. Hats off to you Hajji, we love you and we will miss you,” he added.

Marco Sison recalled the show they did in Vigan, Ilocos Sur last Februaary 13. He said that it was a successful show and they even had midnight snack, and it was Hajji who first went up to his hotel room.

“The usual, sobrang galing mag-perform. Sumasayaw. Pawis na pawis. Wala kang makikitang trace na may dinadamdam siya or meron siguro pero hindi lang niya pinapahalata,” Marco said about Hajji.

He was not aware that Hajji was already complaining about his stomah pain. Marco thought that it was just an ordinary pain. A few days after, he heard that Hajji neeed to be hospitalized because of dehydration. Unfortunately, things worsen for Hajji Alejandro.

When asked what he will miss the most about Hajji, Marco said that it is the late singer’s sense of humor because a lot of people may think that he was “suplado.”
