Pepe Herrera had this core memory with Pilita Corrales
Actor Pepe Herrera recalled the time when he was able to spend time with the late Asia’s Queen of Song, Pilita Corrales.
Pilita passed away on April 12, and this broke the hearts of many fans and showbiz personalities who shared tributes to the late singer-actress.
In Pepe’s post highlighting his core memory with Pilita, he shared the time when he worked with her in the movie Ikaw. The movie was released in 2021 and also featured Pilita’s granddaughter, actress Janine Gutierrez.
“Noong ginagawa namin ang pelikulang “Ikaw”, madalas akong tumatabi kay Ms. Pilita kapag may eksena kaming magkasama,” the actor wrote in the caption of his post.
He also said that for some reason, Pilita’s light in her personality somehow helped him. The actor added that the veteran showbiz personality’s “hirit” was very youthful. He would always smile with her jokes and throwback stories.
The post featured a video showing that Pepe Herrera had an impromptu duet with the one and only Pilita Corrales.
“And then this duet happened. No rehearsals. Hindi ko pyesa. Umasa ako sa kanyang kumpas. And I flowed with her Magic. What a master,” Pepe said.
Then, the actor said that it was a big honor for him to work with and sing with Pilita. He said that he will honor the late singer-actress every time he performs. Pepe Herrera also expressed his sympathy with Janine and her father, Monching Gutierrez.
