Phoemela Baranda had the chance to be a co-host with these prominent TV personalities
TV host Phoemela Baranda shared her experience working with King of Talk Boy Abunda and Queen of all Media Kris Aquino.
Boy and Kris had been tandems on various talk shows in the past. They are among the most respected personalities when it comes to TV hosting. Over the years, they had established their names as pillars of talk shows.
Among their most prominent co-hosting stints was the showbiz talk show The Buzz, in which the hottest showbiz topics were discussed. One of the segment hosts of the defunct TV show was Phoemela. In a recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, she shared her experience working with prominent hosts.
Phoemela Baranda shared that she was just in her 20s when she had the chance to work with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino. It was a different experience for her.
One thing she would never forget about Kris was how she was being noticed by the seasoned female TV host. When it comes to the King of Talk, Phoemela said that she got important advice.
“Siyempre si Kris pa, I love Kris, lahat pupunahin niyan. Pupunahin niya ako mula ulo hanggang paa. Si Tito Boy naman, bibigyan ako ng advice na mostly hindi ako nakikinig kasi matigas ‘yung ulo ko noon,” she said.
Phoemela added that if she could go back in time, she would have listened to Tito Boy, but she said that she would take this as a lesson, also.
“’Yung mga pinagdaanan ko in my 20s, it was a journey. But working with you guys really taught me how to be strong, how to be in your toes. Being in this showbiz (industry), iba rin talaga,” she explained.
When she was asked if there was a time during her stint with Kris and boy when she wanted to go home and just walk away, Phoemela said that there was a moment when she thought of this.
On the other hand, she stressed that it was more of a pressure. “Nakakakaba, and then ‘yung mga interview. Hindi lang naman sa inyo, pati ‘yung ini-interview ko,” Phoemela Baranda admitted.
