Female Grade 8 Student Gets Bullied by Classmates Inside School Campus
BULLYING – A female grade 8 student was allegedly bullied by her classmates in Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
Recently, a disturbing incident involving a Grade 8 student from Bagong Silangan, Quezon City has raised concern among parents. A viral video shows the young girl sitting quietly while being surrounded by several classmates.
The group appeared to be intimidating her, laughing and making her feel uncomfortable. Moments later, one of them suddenly pulled her hair, causing her to fall to the floor. The bullying continued as she was dragged and shaken while her hair was still being pulled.
According to a source who asked to remain anonymous, the incident happened on a Monday and actually occurred twice on the same day; once during their 3 PM break time, and again around 6 PM before dismissal.
The school tried to reach out to the victim through her family, but her parents chose not to speak publicly. The source also shared that the bullying may have started because of a misunderstanding between the victim and the leader of the group who attacked her.
Meanwhile, a sibling of one of the alleged bullies claimed that their family member was the one who was bullied first.
The school’s principal reported the incident to the Department of Education’s Central Office and confirmed the timeline shared by the victim. Unfortunately, the girl did not tell her parents or adviser due to fear.
The school has promised to investigate the incident and emphasized its commitment to keeping students safe. The Department of Education said that they are addressing the issue quickly and are ready to support all students involved.
“The School Administration acknowledges the serious allegations of bullying and is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident captured in the video. We ask the public to trust our established procedures for handling this situation,” Bagong Silangan High School said.
DepEd also asked the Philippine National Police to assist with the investigation to ensure that justice is served.
