KATHRYN BERNARDO – Actress Kathryn Bernardo’s mom has set the record straight about the actress’s relationship status, confirming that she is single.
Amid ongoing speculation about Kathryn Bernardo’s relationship status, her mother, Min Bernardo, has set the record straight, confirming that the popular actress is currently single despite attracting plenty of admirers. Min shared this revelation during an interview on ABS-CBN’s On Cue with entertainment reporter MJ Felipe.
During the conversation, Min expressed that while she gives Kathryn the freedom to make her own choices, she remains a guiding figure in her daughter’s life. “Hinahayaan ko lang siya pero nandyan pa rin ako sa side na bumubulong, ‘Hindi tama ‘yan; hindi okay ‘yan’ — mga gano’n,” Min explained, admitting that it can be tough when her advice goes unheeded.
Accepting Kathryn’s growing independence, Min acknowledged, “Ngayon, ina-accept ko na lang na ‘sige na nga, matanda ka na. Ikaw na magdesisyon by your own, pero sana isipin mo hundred times kung sino man ‘yan, ano man ‘yan kasi mahirap magkamali,’” She also noted that as one of the country’s top actresses, Kathryn is under constant scrutiny, with many waiting to see if she falters.
When Felipe asked if Kathryn currently has any suitors, Min smiled and nodded, playfully responding, “Syempre naman. Ang panget ba naman ng anak ko kung walang manliligaw, ‘di ba?” When Felipe followed up by asking if Kathryn is single, Min confirmed, “Yea, oo.”
According to the report, Min also opened up about being prepared for the day Kathryn decides to settle down. While she once advised her children to get married by 25, none followed that suggestion. Kathryn herself once mentioned wanting to tie the knot at 33, later adjusting the age to 34.
The interview comes amid rumors linking Kathryn to Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala, sparked by claims from showbiz insider Ogie Diaz that an anonymous source had confirmed their relationship. However, both Kathryn and Alcala have remained silent on the matter.
Regardless of the rumors, Min remains confident in her daughter’s strength and maturity, describing Kathryn as a resilient and thoughtful woman who knows how to navigate life’s challenges. For now, Kathryn is fully focused on her career while keeping her heart open to love when the time feels right.
